Biometrics

biometric fingerprint

Several years ago, CMI realized that by using fingerprint biometrics as the mechanism for capturing employee data, companies could recognize many improvements in their workforce management, process control and machine control processes, and see meaningful results in their bottom lines. This was revolutionary for its time - CMI was the first company to introduce fingerprint biometrics to the workforce management category.

CMI introduced biometrics in 1999. We selected fingerprint biometrics as the most reliable, sound and secure technology available - based on significant research into available biometric solutions, such as facial, iris and voice recognition, as well as hand punch systems. We also saw that more research dollars were being directed to fingerprint biometrics at the time.

Since then, CMI has led the industry in significant advancements that have made the use of biometrics the best technology to provide employee identification for a variety of needs, including time & attendance, payroll, machine control and secure access control.

Thanks in large part to Control Module, the use of fingerprint biometrics is becoming widespread in enterprises around the world. CMI has taken a leadership role in ensuring this powerful technology is extremely affordable, is exceptionally reliable and very easily integrates into multiple back-office systems.

We continue to evaluate and develop advanced biometric solutions in all areas and is committed to providing the most accurate, secure, reliable and cost-effective solutions to meet customer needs.

With the addition of CMI's advanced fingerprint biometric technology, companies competing in any industry can:

  • Reduce the costs and risks of producing employee ID cards
  • Eliminate buddy punching
  • Securely deliver employees personal information, including salary accruals and FMLA status
  • Enable their workforce management terminals to serve as highly accurate employee input terminals for the delivery of benefits changes, shift results and vacation requests; thereby minimizing necessary HR hours
  • Provide secure access control for their facilities, machines and databases
  • Ensure that only authorized employees have access to high value equipment requiring certified operators
  • Ensure access control to restricted areas, such as server rooms, cash repositories and restricted equipment
